It is said that since ancient times, sages and great ascetics have used this land in Tanahun district for penance. According to mythological stories, since the sages and great ascetics had a large mango garden in this rural municipality, it is said that the name Aanbukhaireni has come about due to the custom of calling it Aanbu and the surrounding area also having a forest of khayar. Similarly, in Sanskrit, the word आव means water/river, and since the Chimkeshwari temple is surrounded by rivers on three sides, it is said that the name of this place has come to be Aanbukhairani because of the forest of khayar around the chautara. This rural municipality is historically and religiously a holy land in Tanahun district. Geographically, there is a diversity of lakes, plains, and hills. This rural municipality has arable land and a vast area covered with forests. This rural municipality is mainly inhabited by Magar, Gurung, Brahmin, Kshetri, Newar and other various castes. This rural municipality, which is predominantly inhabited by indigenous people, has unity in the diversity of different castes, races, languages, religions, customs, and traditions. It is rich in diverse castes, lifestyles, religious, and cultural diversity, and is rich in various cultures such as Kaura dance and Jhyaure dance. This rural municipality is also very important from a tourist perspective due to its natural beauty. The former Seventy-seven Abu Village Panchayat, Aanbukhaireni Village Council, was declared Aanbukhaireni Municipality as per the decision of the Government of Nepal on Ashwin 1, 2072 BS. Under the state restructuring, Aanbukhaireni Municipality, Chimkeshwari and Deurali Village Councils were integrated and formed as Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality as per the decision of the Government of Nepal on 2073/11/27 and has been implemented. The center of the rural municipality is located in Aanbukhaireni Bazaar Milanchowk. The Prithvi Highway crosses Aabukhairani Rural Municipality from the north, and the Gorkha Highway from the east. This rural municipality, which is close to the provincial and central capitals, has great potential for development and prosperity, and there are ample grounds to be confident about the development of the rural municipality and the golden future of the villagers. Located in Tanahun district of Gandaki Province, Nepal, this rural municipality is surrounded by Chitwan and Gorkha districts to the east, Bandipur and Devghat rural municipalities to the west, Bandipur rural municipalities and Gorkha districts to the north, and Devghat rural municipalities and Chitwan districts to the south. The rural municipality was established on 27 Falgun, 2073 BS, as per the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal.
