Advertisment Board is established under Advertisement (Regulation) Act, 2076 for regulation of Advertisement in Nepal.
Board has following responsibilities:
- To formulate a national policy on advertisement and make recommendations to the Ministry,
- To prepare criteria for evaluating the content of advertisements broadcast through the media,
- To formulate a code of conduct for the production, transmission and distribution of advertisements,
- To encourage the publication and broadcasting of advertisements related to national interest and public interest as per the requirements of the country,
- Monitoring of advertisement being developed, published and broadcasted as per the provision of the Act,
- To monitor and recommend to the Ministry for action if the advertisements aired on foreign channels are aired against the clean feed policy,
- To coordinate between the Government of Nepal, advertising agencies, advertisers, media and government bodies,
- To recommend to the Ministry to conduct necessary programs for the development of qualifications and capabilities of the advertising business and entrepreneurs,
- To Conduct programs related to consumer awareness,
- To reward those who have done excellent work in the field of advertising,
- To give necessary instructions to the advertisement producer, producer, distributor or broadcaster,
- To distribute all the advertisements related to the public welfare provided by the Government of Nepal to the media through prescribed procedure.
