According to the decision of the Government of Nepal, from the month of Shrawan 2075, the Agricultural Information and Communication Center and the National Agricultural Research and Development Fund have been merged into one place and established as the Agricultural Information and Training Center. The Agricultural Information and Communication Center was established in 2022 BS under the name of the Agricultural Information Branch under the Department of Agriculture with the main responsibility of transforming traditional agricultural profession into knowledge-based commercial agriculture using mass media to provide agricultural technology-based materials and informative information to farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, distributors and stakeholders. Among the various mass media, the Agricultural Information and Communication Center has been established in 2022 BS under the name of the Agricultural Information Branch under the Department of Agriculture. Among the various mass media, the Agricultural Bimonthly Magazine started being published by the Ministry of Forests and Agriculture since 2018 BS, other booklets, folders, posters and agricultural diaries since 2022 BS and the Agricultural Calendar since 2045. 46 have been published and distributed regularly. In 2018 BS, the Radio Agricultural Program was started broadcasting under the Gram Seva Program and since 25 Mangsir 2023 BS, agricultural programs have been regularly broadcast on Radio Nepal. Since 2046 BS, video documentaries have been prepared under the Audiovisual Program and broadcast on Nepal Television. Nepal Television has been broadcasting agricultural programs regularly since 2054 BS. Similarly, for the overall development of the agricultural sector based on a competitive grant system, the Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) has established the “National Agricultural Research and Development Fund 2058” by exercising the authority granted by Section 3 of the Fund Act 2043, by requesting project proposals related to agricultural research and development from government, private and non-governmental organizations and civil society, and by providing full or partial grants to suitable and prioritized projects, and by operating the program through equitable distribution of government services. Since its inception, the Fund's broad priority areas have been agricultural (crop, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries) production and productivity growth and farming system improvement, research and extension of agricultural (crop, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries) systems that meet user demand and generate additional income for farming families, adaptation to climate change in plant and animal health and increased production, sustainable use of natural resources and resource base and environmental protection, cultivation, production and value addition of medicinal and aromatic plants, agribusiness, agribusiness, agritourism, agriprocessing, food hygiene, quality control and policy issues. Within the broad priority areas of the Fund, thesis grants have been provided to various projects and to students pursuing master's and doctoral degrees in agriculture for research on various topics. Some projects have been completed and some are underway. The task of providing training on various subjects related to agriculture and animal science to officer-level employees working in various groups of agricultural services at the federal, provincial and local levels has also come under the responsibility of this Agricultural Information and Training Center from Shravan 1, 2075 BS. BS. In 2062, the center's website www.aicc.gov.np was built and online services were provided through the center's website and other useful materials published by the center on its website. Currently, the service is being provided through the website of the Agricultural Information and Training Center www.aitc.gov.np. Since the early sixties, agricultural programs have been produced and broadcast in collaboration with the district-based FMs, taking into account the local environment, needs and in some places even in the local language.
