Blue Sapphire Travels and Tours is a new entity on the Nepal tourism industry scene. However, it is managed and operated by the same professionals who manage the trekking agency Mountain Legend Pvt. Ltd. which, in 2009-2012 alone, successfully ran more than 300 treks and trips in the Khumbu, Annapurna, Langtang and Mustang regions in Nepal and over approximately 30 trips to Tibet, besides a few in Bhutan.
There is a firm defining line between the meanings of “trekking” and “travels and tours”.
“Trekking” essentially entails hard hiking in high hills and mountains, across wind- and snow-swept high passes and glaciers, through high-altitude valleys and forests and over swift-flowing ice-melt rivers on swaying suspension bridges made of rope and vine. Always within the close proximity of the towering monoliths that are the Himalayas.
On the other hand, “travels and tours” signifies what the words actually mean: traveling and touring in places and countries where one is a stranger, seeking to see and experience new places and peoples, something exotic, while enjoying a well-deserved holiday among cultures foreign to one’s own. No exertions, no strains. Seeing and experiencing a strange new world in comfort and safety.
Seeing and experiencing Kathmandu Valley’s three ancient cities of Kathmandu-proper, Bhaktapur, the “living museum”, and Patan, the city of hidden temples of mystery. Pokhara, the “lake city”. Chitwan with it’s Royal Bengal Tigers, one-horned Asiatic rhinos, innumerable species of flora and fauna, elephant safaris and floating along the river tides in indigenously hewn boats. Then there is Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, where serenity and peace blend with history.
Just to mention a few places of interest that Blue Sapphire Travels and Tours will introduce you to.
And returning home with memories that will never fade away. Memories of the places visited, the new friends made, the festivals and rituals witnessed, the exotic food eaten and the knowledge gained. All this and much more. With Blue Sapphire.
