Gandaki Province Tanahun District, Byas Municipality, Ward No. 3, Provincial Hospital Damauli is a health service provider under the Ministry of Health, Gandaki Provincial Government. This hospital is also a referral hospital for other hospitals around this district.

 

Spread over an area of ​​15 ropanis, Damauli Hospital has been providing curative, preventive, promotional, rehabilitative and palliative health services to the service recipients of the local community at low fees, partial or full fee exemption. Due to the availability of specialist doctors and quality service delivery, this hospital also functions as the main and responsible health institution of the district and as a referral center for all health institutions in the district.

 

In Tanahun District, it was established as Damauli Health Post in 2028 BS and has been providing services to Damauli, the headquarters of Tanahun, and the surrounding villages. BS In 2050 BS, Damauli Health Post was upgraded to Damauli Primary Health Center, and in 2059 BS, Damauli Primary Health Center was upgraded again to 15-bed Damauli Hospital. This hospital is located in Damauli Bazaar, the center of Tanahun district, the administrative center of Byas Municipality, and on Nepal's busy Prithvi Highway. Based on the increasing number of service recipients, the Hospital Management Committee has added 35 beds to the total 55-bed hospital currently in operation. This hospital has been operating from a new building prepared in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Health and Population, Government of Nepal. This Damauli Hospital, which is under the Ministry of Health and Population, Government of Nepal, is currently under the Ministry of Health, Gandaki Province, Government of Nepal, according to the federal structure. This hospital is located 250 meters from the Prithvi Highway.

 

This hospital serves a population of approximately 400,000 in some areas of Tanahun, Gorkha, Lamjung, and Kaski districts. The hospital provides dental services, eye care services, orthopedic services, gynecology services, pediatric services, dermatology services, social services unit, anti-retroviral therapy (ART), (Directly Observed Therapy (DOTs), One Door Crisis Management Center (OCMC), Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Safe Motherhood, 24-hour emergency blood service in coordination with Red Cross Society and it also provides dialysis services. The hospital had arranged 7-bed ICU facility and 4-bed ventilator facility at the beginning of COVID-19. This hospital provides OPD services including special care.

 

Currently, this hospital provides daily surgery, medicine and pediatric specialist services, three days a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, radiology (video X-ray) service, operation service once a week on Tuesday, anesthesiology service once a week on Tuesday, orthopedic specialist services once a week on Tuesday and kidney specialist services on Tuesday. It has been providing services on the fourth Saturday of the month. This hospital has also been providing paid extended OPD services from specialists in surgery, medicine, and pediatrics.
