History
Deurali-Janta Pharmaceuticals was established in Kathmandu by Mr. Hari Bhakta Sharma, Executive Director of the company, in 1988. Its corporate office is based in Budhanilkantha Sadak, Bansabari-03, Kathmandu. DJPL started with a few over-the-counter products and antibiotics for minor ailments. To make the Nation less reliant on other countries for essential drugs and with the recommendation of top medical practitioners, in Sep. 2005 AD, a new division was established named “SUSWASTHYA”, as an expansion to its current range of products.
This systemic care division is primarily the division to promote chronic disease management especially on Cardiovascular, Endocrinology, & Nephrology segment. DJPL is working hard to deliver the best with constant upgradation of its product portfolio and have a better market share in the country. On Aug. 25th 2011, DJPL celebrated the inauguration of “AROGYAM”. With the motto “Caring for better wellbeing”, AROGYAM is a specialized care division of DJPL that brings its topical applications range for the very first time, along with efforts in specialization in the field of Dentistry & Ophthalmology. “NIROG” has a focus on Neuropsychiatry and Pain Management. This primary care division was inaugurated on Jul. 26, 2013 with an aim to serve with excellence. Likewise “DIVYAM” and “AARAMBHA” were inaugurated on Jan. 30, 2016 and Jul. 17, 2018 respectively. “DIVYAM” specializes in Gastro-hepatology and “AARAMBGA” is dedicated for mother & child health. Deurali-Janta Pharmaceuticals is now one of the largest companies in Nepal. The company plans to export its products to at least five international markets soon. Deurali-Janta is the first Nepalese pharmaceutical company awarded with World Health Organization - Good Manufacturing Practice (WHO-GMP) certificate.
