Devchuli Municipality is located in the Nawalpur area of ​​Nawalparasi district, located in the central part of the country, about 150 km from the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. The municipality was declared as a municipality by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal on 25 Baisakh 2071, incorporating the former Dibyapuri, Devchuli and Pragathinagar Rural Municipality. It is a municipality formed by the decision of the Government of Nepal on 27 Falgun 2073 by incorporating the former Rajahar Rural Municipality. This municipality, located in the Gandaki Province of Nepal, has a total area of ​​112.72 square km. It is bordered by Gaindakot Municipality to the east, Hupsekot Rural Municipality and Kawasoti Municipality to the west, Bulingtar Rural Municipality to the north and Chitwan National Park to the south. Bordered by the Jharahi River on the Mahendra Highway as the eastern border, the Lokaha River on the same highway on the western border, the 1938-meter-high Devchuli Mountain in the north, and the holy Narayani River in the south, Daldale Bazaar of this municipality is the main gateway to the hilly region of Nawalparasi district. It is inhabited by the Chhetri, Brahmin, Magar, Tamang, Newar, etc. Jaja castes. According to the 2078 census, this municipality currently has 14,493 households and a population of 58,003. Out of which 30,667 are women and 27,336 are men, while the number of children is 15,389.
The first children's club "Jagruti Children's Club Nepal" was registered in the former Pragathinagar Rural Municipality of this municipality. It has now been declared the first child-friendly municipality in Gandaki Province and the second in Nepal. The child-friendly declaration ceremony was held on Bhadra 29, 2075 BS under the patronage of Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali. There are about 95 children's clubs at the community and school levels. The former Pragathinagar Village Council in this municipality was declared the first open defecation-free village council in Nepal on 28th Baisakh 2064 BS, while the first child-friendly village council was declared on 9th Push 2070 BS. 26 toles of this municipality, which have been declared fully literate and fully vaccinated, have been declared environmentally friendly toles.


Devchuli Danda, which has historical, religious and touristic importance, settlements such as Kumsot, Kirtipur and Bandipur, which have abundant potential for homestays and are inhabited by the Magar community, and the Piprahar Homestay, which has been put into operation, and the hotel, resort and buffer community forests on the banks of the Narayani River have covered the potential for tourism development of this municipality.
The flat cultivable land and vegetable production pockets here have the potential for agriculture and organic farming, while the hilly settlements of the municipality have the same potential for animal husbandry and beekeeping.


One of the largest industrial hubs in Nepal, Chaudhary Group's CG Industries Park, along with brick industries, crusher industries and other industries being established, are revealing industrial culture and employment opportunities.


Devchuli Center Plot, Dharapani, Prithvinagar, Janajyoti, Divyapuri, Rajahar, Farm and other playgrounds and Ghumauri Picnic Sports and Park, Nagpokhari Children's Park, Sakala Children's Park, Salghari, Kadampur, Shantigaira wetlands have many potential for sports and entertainment.
Religious sites such as Shashwat Dham, Kalika Temple, Pashupati Temple, Baraju Than, Tinkanya Mai, and the Narayani beach where the Ekadashi fair is held are important for religious tourism.
