Gaur Eye Hospital was established in 1997 under the umbrella of NNJS. It is located in ward number 12 in Purenwa in Gaur Municipality, the southern part of Rautahat district. It is nearly 3 km far from the Gaur market and 4 km from the Indian border (Barganiya of Bihar State). It has a land area of 0.09 acre, which was donated by the Government of Nepal with the initiation and support of the Social Welfare Minister honorable late Mr. SekhIdrish. It was supported by AOCA and 24 hour television Japan under Narayani Eye Care Project. In the beginning it was started as a surgical eye camp at Gaur Municipality in 1990, which was organized with initiation of Narayani Eye Care Project (NECP).
Gaur eye hospital has three eye care centers under its network; Bankul ECC-22 km, Chandranigapur ECC-42 km, Barthahawa ECC-40km & Garuda ECC -21 km.
Vision
To be leading eye care provider in the Narayani Zone. Through strengthening it’s service network as a quality eye care provider at cheaper cost.
Mission
To provide preventive and curative eye care services to underprivileged people at cheaper cost, which helps to reduced backlog of preventable blindness. The hospital wants to empower people to their eye health by providing eye care health education in the community.
