According to the decision of the Cabinet of Government of Nepal dated 2080/10/09, the Government Integrated Data Center (GIDC) has been named as the Integrated Data Management Center under the Department of Information Technology. The Integrated Data Management Centre has been established with the objective of developing and promoting the information technology sector of the Government of Nepal, expanding the use of information technology in Nepal, addressing the dependence of the government's information system, creating suitable opportunities through the continuous development and expansion of the use of information and communication technology, and addressing policy / institutional challenges.

The Integrated Data Management Center (National Information Technology Center) serves as a data bank of information and helps in the computerization of records and development and elaboration of materials in government offices. Being an implementing agency for the Government of Nepal, the Integrated Data Management Center (National Information Technology Center) serves as the focal point for the implementation of the electrified government. Former Government Integrated Data Center is a project funded by the Government of Korea and established in 2009. At present, it serves as the only official government data center for the ministries, departments and agencies of the Government of Nepal and its disaster recovery office is operational in Hetauda.

The Integrated Data Management Centre (IDMC) is responsible for operating, managing and providing technical support, doing all the work from domain registration to website hosting of government bodies, providing information technology infrastructure required for electronic services of government bodies, operating / managing the SinghaDurbar network infrastructure, working on government data backup, providing consultancy and technical support to government bodies.
