The Madhesh Agricultural University (MAU) has been established on 13 th December, 2021 (27 Mansir 2078 BS) at Rajbiraj of Saptari in Madhesh Province of Nepal. This is the first autonomous agricultural university in Madhesh province, established by Madhesh Province Parliament as Madhesh Agricultural University Act 2079 (Province Agricultural University Ordinance 2078)
This university works for basic science research for knowledge generation and development of skilled human resources through education in agriculture sector. The Madhesh Agricultural University is premier institute for higher education, research and extension in the field of agriculture.
The vision of Madhesh Agricultural University to achieve gratitude as prime university committed to contribute nation’s and province goals through quality agricultural education, innovative research and need based extension in agriculture sector.
The mission of the university is to improve all round development of agriculture, livestock, aquaculture and forestry which would raise the socio-economic conditions of the vulnerable people through quality teaching, research and extension in the direction of prosperity of Madhesh province and over all Nepal.
