Mount Everest Power Development Private Limited was founded as a private company on Kartik 30, 2071 BS (November 16, 2014 AD) and later converted to a public company on Ashad 27, 2080 BS (July 12, 2023 AD). The central office of the company is located at Mahalaxmisthan, Lalitpur.

The company has developed the Dudhkunda Khola Hydropower Project, a run-of-river type project with an installed capacity of 12.0 MW. The project is located in Solukhumbu District, Solududhkunda Municipality, Ward No. 1 and 2.

The company’s generation license for the 12.0 MW project was issued on Mangsir 18, 2076 BS (December 4, 2019 AD). The generation license is valid for 35 years, until Mangsir 17, 2111 BS(December 03,2054 AD). The power purchase agreement with Nepal Electricity Authority was concluded in Shrawan 1, 2075 BS (July 17,2018 AD). The company received its project survey license on Chaitra 13 ,2073 (March 26 , 2017). Commercial operation began from Shrawan 16, 2081 BS (July 31, 2024 AD).
