The National Investigation Department is an intelligence organization established in the Federation as provided for in the Constitution of Nepal. It is the responsibility of this organization to provide all types of information required by the government to promote and enhance the independence, sovereignty, geographical integrity, independence, internal and national security and interests of the State of Nepal. In addition to various areas of national security, the department also collects information related to economic and financial crimes, terrorism, organized crime, crimes including religion, culture, language, and aspects that disrupt harmony between communities. The central office of this department, which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Nepal, is located in Singha Durbar. The National Investigation Department sincerely requests all Nepali citizens to contribute to strengthening the national security system by providing any information that will help promote national security and national interests.
