Pataleban Vineyard Winery is the first commercial Vineyard Winery in Nepal, located at Thakre Rural Municipality ward no.10 Kewalpur, Dhading, 40 KM west from Kathmandu City. We were established on 2013 and have a success of research  based cultivation of grape in Nepal.

 

There are over 20 different varieties of European and Japanese grapes being grown on the site selecting the best PIWI cultivars. Small batches of hand-crafted wines are manufactured, reflecting the unique soils and sunshine of each vineyard. A European farming system is being implemented on the farm. Each wine is “a one-of-a-kind” product. The Pataleban winery has five vineyards at different locations and altitude on about 75 acres of land covered.

 


 

Mission of company

The company is committed to introduce and foster the concept of agro tourism in Nepal through its vineyard and winery operations. Through this process the company aims to support rural economic raise, create employment opportunities and provide an alternative to overseas employment for the country’s youth.

 


 

Goals of company

  • Grow and cultivate organic and natural grapes from virgin soil of Nepal by the use of minimal amount of pesticide through continuous research and innovations.
  • Produce variety of high quality organic wines to cater to touristic hotels and restaurants.
  • Develop nurseries for climate suitable grape vines and distribute to interested farmers.
  • Explore opportunities to export wines to Asian and European Markets.
  • Establish the brand as a premium souvenir for international tourists visiting Nepal.
  • Setup a luxury farmhouse resort within the vineyard premises to enhance the tourist experience.

Pataleban Vineyard Winery has build its foundation with strong technical expertise and global collaborations :

  • Technical guidance from Dr. Okamoto Goro, a Professor of Okayama University Japan, for grape cultivation and vineyard development.
  • Quality wine production expertise from Mr. Joseph Marie Chanton, the founder of Chanton Winery, Switzerland.
  • Consulting from Mr. Wolfgang  Schaefer, the tropical viticulture specialist from Germany to ensure finest viticulture practices.
  • Advance wine production equipments imported from Italy, enzymes from Germany and fermentation tanks sourced from Nashik, India.

 

With consistent expansion, the vineyard’s production capacity has grown steadily with the winery current storage of cellar up to 300,000 liters.
