The Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences Act envisages opening a hospital for higher studies and research in the health sector and for providing quality and accessible health services to people. The Act states that Western Regional Hospital, which was in operation before the Act came into force, will be regarded as a hospital of the PoAHS. A hospital management committee oversees overall management of the hospital. The PoAHS Director serves as the chairperson of the 10-member committee, while the chief of administration department of PoAHS will be member secretary.
