In relation to Kathmandu Valley’s urban growth and related air pollution, Sajha Yatayat is playing an important role in providing electricity-driven urban public transport. This process has begun with the addition of 40 battery-operated buses (manufactured by CHTC company of Nanjing, PRC), which adds to our complement of 71 diesel buses, making for a total of 111 buses in operation. Today, at its premises in Pulcowk, Sajha Yatayat has the largest charging station in Nepal, with 14 charging ports that can handle double that number of buses simultaneously.
