Established in 2016 B.S. (1959 A.D.) as the “National Dance Theater,” this organization was restructured as the “Cultural Corporation” on 5th Asar 2029 B.S. (1972 A.D.) under the Communication Institutions Act 2028. It is Nepal’s oldest and official government body dedicated to the institutional development of Nepali culture. Since its inception, the Corporation has played a pivotal role in preserving, promoting, and transferring cultural heritage through various programs reflecting Nepal's identity. These programs are showcased at significant state events, ceremonies, festivals, and other special occasions, marking a glorious history.

The primary goal of the Corporation is to inspire cultural revival by presenting cultural programs, offering healthy entertainment to the public, and preserving and promoting Nepal’s identity-rich folk songs, instruments, dances, dramas, and traditions. The Corporation also combats social evils, prejudices, and discrimination through awareness campaigns, contributing significantly to social and cultural transformation.
