Tila Rural Municipality was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Tila Gaunpalika is located in Raralihi, Jumla district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Tila Gaunpalika is surrounded by Tatopani Rural Municipality on the East and Kalikot district on the West, Hima Rural Municipality on the North, and Kalikot district on the South.

The total area of the Tila Rural Municipality is 175.49 square kilometers (67.76 sq mi). The density of this rural municipality is 78/km2 (200/sq mi). This Rural municipality is divided into 9 wards. Ghodemahadev, Malikathata, Raralihi, and Kudari Village development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Tila Gaunpalika.
