Following Government of Nepal's decision, Vidhyut Utpadan Company Limited (VUCL) was formally established on 20 November 2016. VUCL has a plan to become a leading electricity generation company across the country.

Vision

The vision of VUCL is to help build-up Nepal a prosperous nation from all the way through the development of hydropower from its vast and untapped hydro resources.

Mission

The mission of VUCL is to support the government in generating all economically viable electricity from Nepal's available hydro resources and thereby ensure the energy security in the country and realize the export potentials of energy through the development of medium and large scale storage, peaking run-of- river, and run-of- river hydropower projects.
