Public Notice Regarding Area Determination for Preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Report of Kailali Underground Water Irrigation Project

The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Department of Water Resources and Irrigation, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur are implementing the following proposal in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Kailari Rural Municipality and Gauriganga Municipality of Kailali District, Far Western Province.

Conduct of the proposal

The proposed Kailali Groundwater Irrigation Project aims to improve the living standards of farmers by using groundwater for irrigation purposes, increase agricultural production, and strengthen the country's economic situation by increasing crop density from 1555 to 2555 by utilizing cultivable land.

Under the proposed project, 380 deep tubewells ranging from 100 meters to 200 meters deep will be constructed and installed, while a distribution system will be constructed through UPVC pipes at the rate of 2000 meters per 40 hectares. An area of ​​up to 40 hectares can be irrigated from one tubewell. The net command area of ​​this project is 15,320 hectares.
