Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of Associate Project Officer is assigned to the Nepal Resident Mission (NRM) within the South Asia Department (SARD). You will be based at our Resident Mission Office in Nepal.

 

You will report to the Designated international staff and officer (senior/principal/lead, as applicable).

 


 

Selection Criteria

Specific criteria include:

  • Economics of Bachelor's degree in engineering, or Economics, or Businss Administration or equivalent, preferably with advanced training.
  • At least 5 years' relevant work experience in project design, construction, administration, and procurement. Related experience in international agencies is preferable.
  • Experience conducting background analysis on difficult and well-defined tasks, collecting and organizing required data, applying appropriate computer skills in analyzing and developing data, and in preparing notes, papers and sections of reports.
  • Knowledge of ADB or similar multilateral development bank procurement procedures and policies.
  • Proficiency in common word-processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and graphic software used in ADB.
  • Experience working with Government officials, donor agencies, and executing agencies, and individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds.
  • High integrity and good ethics and can maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with local languages and institutions.
  • Good communication skills in English are necessary.

This vacancy is a local staff position with local remuneration package. It is open to nationals and permanent residents of Nepal. The position is a 3-year fixed term appointment with option to renew. ADB offers a competitive salary and benefits package applicable to local staff. While the position advertised is for the Resident Mission, ADB staff may be required to serve in any location outside the Resident Mission at the discretion of Management.
