The ADB-Nepal Resident Mission (NRM) was established to assist its Headquarters in the implementation of projects and programs, in project processing, country programming, and economic and sector work. It also coordinates ADB's activities with other resident diplomatic and donor missions, NGOs, academic institutions, local think tanks, private sector and other members of the civil society.

Position: Project Officer (Urban Development)

Description of Responsibilities:

A Project Officer (Urban Development) will lead or contribute to the processing and administration of assigned loans, grants, and TAs, and urban development work, covering both public and private sector operations. Contribute to capacity building and knowledge work, handle project administration and portfolio management, and effectively liaise with government and development partner counterparts in resolving project and urban ated issue.

Selection Criteria

Specific criteria include:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering engineering or or rela related infrastructure fields; preferably with advanced training.
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in project management and implementation in the water/urban sector.
• Experience and knowledge of various stages of the project cycle (project planning / feasibility analysis / detailed design / project implementation / construction supervision / contract management) is desirable.
• Sound knowledge of government administrative systems and procedures.
• Familiarity with accepted best practices of procurement and disbursement processes.
• Effective report-writing and communication skills in English.
• Written and verbal proficiency in English and local language.
