Position: Head - Legal Department

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all legal functions of the Institution.
• Provide legal advice to the Board of Directors, Management, and various departments.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, cont contracts, agreements, policies, and Board resolutions.
• Represent the institution before courts, regulatory authorities, and government agencies.
• Handle and coordinate Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT) related matters, including preparation and filing of recovery cases, coordination with legal counsels, representation/follow-up before DRT, monitoring case progress, and ensuring timely legal actions for recovery of defaulted loans.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Strengthen the institution's legal governance framework and support policy formulation.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.); LL.M. preferred.
• Advocate License from the Nepal Bar Council will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in banking, financial institutions, or corporate legal practice, including at least 2 years in a department handling role.
• Thorough knowledge of banking laws, corporate laws, loan documentation, recovery procedures, and regulatory compliance
