Job Summary
The Cameraman is responsible for capturing high-quality video footage for television shows, news, interviews, and live broadcasts. This role requires technical skill, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure as part of a production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate video cameras for studio or outdoor shoots as per the director's instructions.
- Set up and test camera equipment, including lenses, tripods, stabilizers, and lighting (when required).
- Collaborate with producers, directors, and lighting technicians to achieve the desired visual style.
- Capture live events, news, or pre-recorded content, sometimes with minimal crew or under challenging conditions.
- Maintain and transport camera gear and related equipment safely.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues with camera equipment on-site.
- Follow safety protocols, especially in outdoor or fast-paced environments.
- Archive and log recorded footage as per company policy.
- Stay updated with the latest camera and shooting techniques and trends.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a camera operator in television, film, or video production.
- Strong knowledge of professional cameras, lenses, and related equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, flexible hours, and sometimes long shifts. Physical stamina and readiness to travel or carry heavy equipment
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Film, Media, Mass Communication, or related field.
