Job Summary

The Reporter is responsible for gathering, researching, and presenting accurate and engaging news stories for television broadcasts. They cover events on the field, conduct interviews, verify facts, and produce video reports that inform and engage viewers.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and pitch newsworthy stories relevant to the target audience.
• Cover breaking news, press conferences, events, and other assignments on the field.
• Conduct interviews with newsmakers, experts, and the public.
• Write scripts and prepare voice-overs for video packages and live reports.
• Work closely with camera operators, editors, and newsroom producers.
• Ensure accuracy, fairness, and balance in all reporting.
• Deliver live reports and stand-ups with clarity and confidence.
• Follow up on developing stories and provide regular updates.
• Maintain strong contacts and sources to generate exclusive news leads.
• Stay updated on current affairs, trends, and local issues. Comply with journalistic ethics, legal standards, and editorial guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
• Prior experience in reporting, preferably in television or multimedia journalism.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills in [Nepali and/or English).
• Confident on-camera presence and clear communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, especially during breaking news.
• Strong research and investigative abilities.
• Familiarity with newsroom systems, editing workflows, and field reporting tools.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
