Position: Proof Reader

Key Responsibilities

• Review news stories, editorials, advertisements, and other content for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.
• Check facts, names, dates, figures, and designations for accuracy. Ensure consistency in style according to the newspaper's style guide.
• Correct typographical errors and formatting issues.
• Verify headlines, sub-headlines, captions, and photo credits.
• Assist sub-editors, and designers for corrections.
• Ensure content is publication-ready within strict deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of unpublished news content.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of grammar and editorial standards.
• Excellent command of written language (Nepali is required).
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of publishing software is an advantage.
• Ethical and responsible approach to news content
