Job Description

• Coordinate and oversee daily news operations from the newsroom.
• Assign stories to reporters and correspondents based on priority, relevance, and audience interest. Edit, review and proofread news articles, scripts, and reports for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and
• tone.
• Ensure factual correctness, journalistic integrity, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
• Write headlines and subheadings that are engaging and reader friendly
• Collaborate with layout and design teams to finalize newspaper pages on time.
• Monitor breaking news, and social media for updates and follow-ups.
• Maintain the news schedule and ensure all content is published or aired on time.
• Manage newsroom workflow during live events or breaking news coverage.
• Maintain archives of daily news logs, reporter assignments, and editorial changes.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Nepali (typing fluency required)u
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in newsroom, preferably in editorial or desk roles.
• Strong command of both Nepali and English languages (verbal and written).
• Excellent news judgment and editorial decision-making ability.
• Skilled in editing for accuracy, grammar, brevity, and style.
• Familiar with standard newsroom editorial guidelines.
