Job Description

• Report and write daily and feature stories on companies, markets, the economy, and financial trends.
• Break exclusive stories and develop enterprise reporting on business topics of national interest.
• Monitor major economic indicators, earnings reports, mergers & acquisitions, policy developments, and their implications.
• Cultivate sources within the business, finance, and regulatory bodies.
• Translate complex financial or economic data into accessible reporting for a general audience.
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, graphic designers, and data journalists to enhance storytelling.
• Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity.
• Represent the publication at industry events, press briefings, or media appearances if required.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, economics, business, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience covering business, markets, or economics (experience at a major publication preferred).
• Strong news judgment and proven ability to generate original story ideas.
• Excellent writing, editing, and interviewing skills.
• Familiarity with financial reports, regulatory provisions, and economic data.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced newsroom.
• Multimedia or data journalism experience is a plus.
