Job Description

• Cover political developments including parliament proceedings, party activities, elections, and government decisions. Build and maintain credible sources among politicians, bureaucrats, analysts, and political institutions.
• Write accurate, well-structured, and balanced news reports and features in either Nepali or English (or both).
• Monitor and verify political news from press releases, media briefings, and social media.
• Conduct interviews with politicians, party leaders, political analysts, and experts.
• Stay ahead of political trends and breaking news to ensure timely and exclusive reporting.
• Coordinate with editors and desk teams for story planning, editing, and publishing.
• Ensure all reports comply with journalistic ethics and media laws of Nepal.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Political Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of reporting experience preferred, ideally in political journalism. Excellent command over Nepali and/or English (both written and spoken).
• In-depth knowledge of Nepal's political system, key parties, history, and power dynamics.
• Strong interviewing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel and work outside regular hours, especially during breaking political events.
