Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake E&S reviews, due diligence and site visits for the Bank's investments especially Hydro projects and other project financings ensuring alignment with national E&S legislation and IFC Performance Standards.
- Support Credit Proposals for E&S requirements.
- E&S troubleshooting; provide technical and problem-solving support and guidance within bank to its clients as necessary.
- Develop and advise required E&S covenants related to clients and their conditions and action plans in credit proposals, legal agreements, offer with the bank's business and legal teams. contractors letters, etc. in coordination
- Monitoring of client's compliance with the Bank's E&S Policy/ESMS requirements, regulatory requirements, corrective action plans, etc.
- Manage and monitor E&S related grievances, ensuring their timely communication and resolution in close coordination with appropriate stakeholders.
- Support clients in improving their E&S ness and practices.
- Carry out portfolio monitoring in terms of E&S aspects.
- Coordinate, prepare and ensure ely submission of all E&S related disclosures.
Experience
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Environmental and Social (E&S) risk management in hydropower sector with demonstrated knowledge of applying relevant national regulations and international best practices viz. IFC PS.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Master's degree in Environmental Science/ Environmental Engineering, or other related fields.
- Well-versed with IFC Performance Standards, national laws and regulations such as Environment Protection Act (EPA), Environment Protection Regulations (EPR), Labour Act, Nepal Rastra Bank's Environmental & Social Risk Management Guideline etc.
- Understanding of Hydropower Sustainability Standards shall be an added benefit.
- Good command of English, with well-developed reporting and documentation skills.
- Candidates should be age of age of 21 to 40 years, not exceeding 40 years as of the last day of application deadline.
