The Sustainable Tourism Project (STP) a collaborative initiative between the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Nepal- aims to enhance local livelihoods by improving tourism facilities and services along three priority trekking trails, while promoting inclusive employment and enterprise opportunities for women, youth, and marginalized groups, and increasing both domestic and international tourist inflow through policy advocacy, digital innovation, strategic branding, targeted marketing, and media outreach.

 

The project intervention is expected to upgrade three priority trekking trails and enhance the basic facilities of the trekking trails and associated services, promote emerging destinations, build local capacities, and digitize tourism services. Project particularly focusing on creating tourism-based employment opportunities for poor, vulnerable, and marginalized groups including women, youth, LGBTIQ people, and persons with disabilities, capacity development of the tourism sector workforce, standardization of tourism services, adoption of digitization, and promotion of Nepal's tourism sector.

Required Qualification, Skills and Experience :

 

Min. Academic Education:

  •  S.L.C / S.E.E pass

 


 

Min. years of relevant Work experience:

  • Valid Driver's license 
  • Minimum 3 year's work experience as a driver
  • Safe driving record

 


 

Required skills and competencies:

  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations is mandatory
  • Skills in minor vehicle repair, safety precautions
  •  Skill of office equipment operation like photocopy, intercom etc. will be an asset
  • Ability to maintain and manage vehicle logbooks efficiently.
  • Gender and Social Inclusion sensitivity

 


 

Desired additional skills:

  • Vehicle driving experience in UN system or in development sector
  • Thorough understanding of rules and regulations for safe driving and formalities to be followed in cases of involvement in accident is mandatory 
  •  Excellent driving skills on and off the road including field driving experience
  • Ability of providing logistic support during events
  • Ability of document handling and additional responsibility as a messenger
  • Basic repair, maintenance or any vehicle related training is added advantage

 


 

Required Language(s) (at working level):

  •  Good knowledge of English and Nepali languages

 


 

Other:

  • Basic computer literacy is added advantage
