United Mission to Nepal (UMN) is an international development organisation committed to empowering people facing multiple marginalisations to transform their lives and move towards the fullness of life. In serving the people of Nepal, multicultural teams of Nepali and volunteer expatriate staff collaborate with local organisations across nine districts, including four provinces and two hospitals. Together, they build partnerships that foster healthy, dignified, and empowered individuals and transformed communities.

 

Position: Grant and Manager (Women only)

Required Number: 1

Location: Kathmandu

 


 

Qualification and Experience

  • Master's degree in development studies, social science, or any other relevant discipline from a recognised university
  • A minimum of three years of work experience in relevant field of development organisations
  • Substantial experience of project design and management, including large data management and analysis, participatory planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting and proposal development, including participatory community assessment
  •  A solid track record of writing grant-winning project proposals is required
  •  Familiarity with up-to-date poverty eradication strategies, policies and development practices in Nepal and internationally
  • A good understanding of global development funding trends in relation to civil society organisations, bilateral and multilateral organisations will be an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with a broad range of people & stakeholders and passion for developing others
  • Good coordination and management skills, fostering mutual respect, participation and partnership
  • Excellent language and communication skills in Nepali and English are required
  • Good computer skills are required
  • Experience of working in a cross-cultural setting is preferred
  • Salaries and benefits will be according to UMN standards
