Job Description
The Enterprise Development Officer will play a crucial role in promotion of agriculture/forestry based enterprises, nature based tourism and preparing business plan and exploring and facilitating to the entrepreneurs to initiating the local resource based enterprises in coordination with CBOs at the project area, Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve Authority, Local Govermnents at Project area and ensuring private sector engagement in biodiversity conservation and climate resilience.
Nice To Haves
- At least University Bachelors' degree in BBS/BEA/Natural Resource Management/Agriculture/Tourism Management/Entrepreneurship, Social Science or relevant subjects.
- At least 2 years-experience in nature friendly enterprise promotion, resource mapping and business planning, capacity building of CBOs/entrepreneurs, value chain and marketing of the local products
- Comprehensive knowledge on nature-based enterprise promotion, policies and compliance of cooperatives and financial institutions -micro finance, banks and loaning process.
- Strong experience on nature-based enterprise (Enviromnental Conservation, Sustainable development, eco-tourism, tourism development and scale up activities that supports biodiversity conservation.
- Working experience with private sector in biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and climate finance will be given priority.
- Strong communication skill with learning attitude.
- Sound knowledge on MS word, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint and relevant computer skills.
- Preferred have 2-wheeler driving license.
- Good reporting skills and cormnunication skills.
- Command in English and Nepali Languages and typing in both languages.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of nature-based enterprise promotion, strengthening and private sector engagement activities based in Dhorpatan Region of Baglung District in close coordination with Project Coordinator and project team.
- Resource mapping for possible nature friendly enterprise and prepare business plan in coordination with CBOs, entrepreneurs and project team.
- Identify potential enterprises for strengthening activities in coordination with local governments, business associations, and other stakeholders.
- Provide continuous follow up support to entrepreneurs and conduct entrepreneurship development activities and trainings as required.
- Conduct capacity building training and support activities to entrepreneurs on business planning, sustainable production practices, access to finance, financial literacy etc. as designed in the annual work plan.
- Ensure Gender and Social Inclusion principles during each stage of all activities - design, development, and implementation.
- Coordinate with different stakeholders such as: Financial Service Providers (FI) to facilitate access to finance services for enterprises, market actors for enterprises' product promotion.
- Keep track of the trade fair and exhibitions planned at the district, regional and national level and facilitate entrepreneurs to participate the events to promote their businesses.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the local govermnent to plan and budget for nature-based enterprises and facilitate public private partnerships
- Support in monitoring and data tracking of the activities and forward the results to project team.
- Support for preparation of monthly, semi-annual and annual work plans, and conduct activities accordingly.
- Support and Coordinate landscape team to prepare case/success studies, quarterly and annual report.
- Perform key role for enterprise development and its sustainability with capacity building.
- Formation and institutionalization of community-based cooperatives and facilitate for providing loan to the entrepreneurs.
- Any other relevant duties assigned by the Project Coordinator.
