Position: Senior Accountant

Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting opera-tions of the manufacturing company, ensuring accuracy of financial records, compli-ance with statutory requirements, and timely reporting to management. The role involves close coordination with production, procurement, and store departments to track costs, inventory, and overall financial performance, along with supervising junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts including ledgers, journals, and trial balance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Ensure timely closing of books at month-end and year-end
- Prepare MIS reports and financial analysis for management decision-making
2. Manufacturing/ Cost Accounting
- Monitor and record raw material purchases, work-in-progress and finished goods inventory
- Perform product costing and analyze cost variances (material, labor, overhead)
- Coordinate with the production and store departments for stock valuation and reconciliation
- Track and report on production costs, wastage, and efficiency
- Assist in setting standard costs and analyzing deviations
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee vendor and supplier payments, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
- Manage customer invoicing, collections, and follow-up on outstanding receivables
- Reconcile accounts payable/receivable ledgers on a regular basis
4. Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with VAT, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable statutory requirements
- Prepare and file tax returns within deadlines
- Liaise with tax consultants and government authorities as required
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and financial regulations relevant to manu-facturing operations
5. Banking & Treasury
- Manage day-to-day banking transactions, fund transfers, and bank reconciliations
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements
- Coordinate with banks for loans, LC (Letter of Credit), and other financial facilities used in raw material import/export, if applicable
6. Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits
- Ensure proper documentation and supporting records for all transactions
- Implement and monitor internal control systems to prevent financial discrepan-cies or fraud
- Ensure adherence to company accounting policies and procedures
7. Team Supervision
- Supervise, guide, and review the work of junior accountants & accounts assistants
- Provide training and support to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the accounts department
- Delegate tasks and ensure deadlines are met across the team
Job Specifications M
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field (Master's
- degree or professional qualification such as CA/ACCA/CMA preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 4-6 years of accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a manufac-turing or industrial environment
- Hands-on experience with cost accounting and inventory management is highly desirable
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and statutory compliance (VAT, TDS, Income Tax)
- Proficiency in accounting Swastik, and advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental coordination Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
