Job Description

  • Please note the appropriate Tier indicated in the vacancy title and ensure that you are holding the applicable contract as defined below:
  • Tier 1: UNDP/ UNCDF/ UNV staff holding permanent (PA) and fixed term (FTA) appointments (defined as “internal” candidates)
  • Tier 2: UNDP/ UNCDF/ UNV staff holding temporary appointments (TA) and personnel on regular PSA contracts
  • Tier 3: All other contract types from UNDP/UNCDF/UNV and other agencies, and other external candidates

 


 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The M & E Analyst (HIV) will work under overall guidance of Project Manager and direct supervision of the Programme and M&E Specialist. 
  • The M&E Analyst HIV  will also contribute to the work related to Malaria under the Global Fund GC-7. 
  • Under the overall guidance of Project Manager and direct supervision of the Programme and M&E Specialist, the Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst- HIV will have below main responsibilities:

Required Skills and Experience

 

Education:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in public health, epidemiology, public administration, statistics, international development, sociology, social sciences or relevant related field is required or 
  • A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree. 

 

Experience:

  • At least 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national and/or international level in monitoring and evaluation is required. 

 

Required skills:

  • Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), database packages, and web-based management systems such as ERP.

 

Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section:

  • Experience of monitoring, and evaluation in the field of health including HIV would be highly desirable.
  • Experience in assessment of data quality and analysis of data sets, preferable related to health including HIV would be highly desirable.
  • Experience in all aspects of evaluation from initial design, field test, implementation, analysis, communication, and final use of the evaluation findings would be highly desirable.
  • Experience with Global Fund funded projects will be highly desirable.
  • Experience in providing training on M &E will be highly desirable
  • Relevant work experience with international development organizations will be desirable.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation from GESI lens will be highly desirable. 

 

Required Languages:

  • Fluency in Nepali and English is required.
