Nepal Police is the only civil police organization of Nepal and was formally established with the promulgation of the Police Act in 2012 BS (1955 AD). Subsequently, the Police Regulation was promulgated in 1959 AD. Nepal Police consists of approximately 79,541 uniformed officers at various ranks.
