Business Development Officer plays a key role in strengthening eSewa's strategic relationships with banks and financial institutions (BFIs). The position is responsible for managing the complete partnership lifecycle, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, driving transaction and revenue growth, and identifying new business opportunities. The role requires a commercially driven, analytical, and relationship-oriented professional who can effectively collaborate with both internal teams and external banking partners to achieve business objectives.

 


 

Qualification and Experience

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Banking, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or digital payments.
  • Hands-on experience in bank/BFI relationship management, partnership management, or business development.
  • Experience in data analysis, commercial negotiations, and stakeholder management is preferred.
  • Prior experience at eSewa or within the digital payment ecosystem will be an added advantage.

 


 

Job Description

Bank & Financial Institution Partnership Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partner banks and financial institutions.
  • Manage the complete partnership lifecycle, including onboarding, integration, performance monitoring, contract renewals, and business expansion.
  • Represent eSewa in meetings, negotiations, and business review sessions with partner institutions.

 

Operational Coordination

  • Coordinate API integrations, system migrations, and new service implementations with BFIs.
  • Act as the liaison between banking partners and internal teams such as Product, Technology, Finance, and Compliance.
  • Resolve operational issues related to transaction flow, settlement, and service availability.
  • Ensure timely documentation, compliance, and audit readiness for all banking partnerships.

 

Business Growth & Performance Management

  • Drive transaction growth, revenue generation, and partner performance across the banking portfolio.
  • Analyze transaction data to identify business opportunities, trends, and performance gaps.
  • Develop and execute data-driven growth initiatives, promotional campaigns, and partnership strategies.
  • Prepare dashboards, MIS reports, and performance reviews for management and partner banks.

 

New Partnership Development

  • Identify and acquire new banking and financial institution partners.
  • Prepare business proposals, presentations, and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Expand existing partnerships by introducing new products and services.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Marketing on co-branded campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Work closely with Product teams to enhance banking-related products and services.
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate settlements, reconciliations, and pricing reviews.
