Part 13 of the Constitution of Nepal provides for the Provincial Executive and according to the same constitutional provisions, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Bagmati Province has been established on 11th February 2018. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning is responsible for the analysis of the province's economic situation and the formulation, implementation and regulation of economic policies, the allocation of provincial financial resources, investment projections and financial management, and the formulation, implementation and regulation of policies and laws related to provincial revenue.

This ministry was established for provincial level economic stability and price stability policy formulation and regulation provincial allocation act and provincial budget formulation, implementation, regulation and financial discipline, provincial public expenditure management and province level finance, planning, budget, financial institutions operational management.
